In our on-demand digital world the possibilities are endless. But so are the challenges, and the lines in ethics and responsibility are blurred at best. Our BCS community is working together to find truth and build trust by sharing experiences, debating what we know - discovering what we don’t. Because if we want a bright digital future for everyone in society, we all need to have a say, whether we’re talking data privacy or machine learning, workplace diversity or everything in between.

SPOTLIGHT ON - DATA ETHICS

Data science is an evolving field of IT offering huge opportunities in every sector. Mapping out ethical guidelines and best practice in this predominantly unchartered landscape is a highly sensitive and intricate task.

We’re working in partnership with the government’s Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation to drive the ethical maturity of the AI profession, and provide universities with best practice guidance for their AI and data science MSc graduates, as well as direction for organisations and professionals. You can contribute to this project by sharing your perceptions and experiences with us by completing the poll below.
